There are lots of reasons to take a vacation in Cozumel. It has incredible beaches, unique diving sites, great accommodation, historic attractions, restaurants galore, fishing and wonderful wildlife. An all inclusive package can be the best option as it means you know exactly how much you are going to spend. These resorts include the cost of food and drink so you can indulge and have a good time after your dive.

The area is known for several special wildlife features one of which is the famous turtle hatchlings. Turtles are one of the main draws for nature lovers. There are two types which use the eastern beaches of the island for nesting, Loggerheads from April to July and Green Turtles from June to September. Most of the diving takes place on the west of the island so nesting does not affect diving but lots of turtles can be seen swimming around.

Two species of turtle use the beaches of the east coast for nesting but this does not affect diving. The hotels and towns are largely situated in the west but tours are available to see the eggs hatching. The nesting seasons run from April to July for the Loggerheads and from June to September for Green Turtles. Of course lots of turtles can be seen swimming around by divers and those snorkeling.

Experienced divers will find all kinds of experiences around the island. The caverns provide a test fro even the most technical diver. There are also deep reefs, shipwrecks, plane wrecks, drop-offs and tunnels. Make sure to check with your tour operator before you leave that you have the correct certifications for the sites you want to see.
