In the past few decades, the tourism sector has grown rapidly. The ecotourism sector in particular has developed significantly with time. Ecotourism Kerala has particularly emerged to be the most important form of tourism in this area. In the state of Kerala, there is a separate directorate set by the government to particularly support ecotourism. This is a place that provides a wide range of cultural activities and wildlife sanctuaries that every tourist will love to explore.

Eco-tourism is an activity that allows the visitors to explore all the wildlife sanctuaries and still manage to maintain sustainable development and support the locals of these areas they visit. After getting to this destination, one must make certain they stop over all the eco-tourism areas. The western region is the most prevalent eco-tourist area. The place is full of a wide biodiversity of wildlife and beautiful natural landscape that may be a perfect place to have delightful adventures. The area also has very many nature reservations that every eco-tourist must visit.

Around 30% of the total land area in Kerala is made of forest. This forest is in the Western Ghat area that has been classified as one of the top 18 area in the world in terms of biodiversity. Aside from the forests, this place has also been labeled as an extraordinary tourist destination because of the backwaters, spice plantations and rambling tea that grow on the mountain gradients. It also has various national parks with a wide variety of wildlife.

While eco-touring this area, it is advisable for the visitors to try home staying. This includes staying with the local people while getting to learn about their culture. Here they will learn their traditional ways of eating organically grown fruits and also vegetables. They can also learn how they eat off a banana leaf.

If any person is considering on making an eco-tour then Kerala is a place to consider. Every person who visits the area makes very good memories that they are likely to remember for the rest of their lives. The place is filled with beauty and tranquility that everyone will love to experience.
