Dealing With Female Midlife Crisis Successfully

The age between 40 and 60 years for women comes with a lot of confusion. This phenomenon is referred to as female midlife crisis and requires careful handling. It takes between three and ten years to come out of this phase. Careful handling is required to shorten the time.

Signs of aging send most women into panic mode. It dawns on them that they are getting old. These years are also characterized by emotional and physical changes that are not easy to conceal. Wrinkles also appear as a sign of irreversible aging. Women are worried about stability in relationships, at work and about their health.

All women do not experience similar triggers. While some are worried about their careers, others worry that they have none. Others wish they had taken certain paths because they would be in a better position. Satisfaction in ones career is questioned as opposed to the search for money at the expense of childhood dreams.

Children throw the life of a lady into a spin. The issues range from having children to not having any. Other women are worried that the children have matured. The idea that they will be leaving home for school or getting married worries the mother. She sometimes finds fault in their upbringing and blames herself.

A parent plays a significant role in centering a person. The death of ones parent is disorienting. Such a woman does not have a grandparent for her children. Her holiday ideas are disoriented. It dawns on her that she too is getting old and the gap cannot be filled by anyone else.

Midlife is characterized by moodiness and strange-eventful occurrences. The woman gets stressed easily and begins to search for lost dreams. She goes back to teenage engagements like clubbing, drinking, dancing or hanging out with old friends. Other behaviors that would be considered as returning include singing and engaging in sports.

The stage comes with a lot of remorse as she feels unaccomplished in life. Life seems to be moving drastically towards an end. This leads to panic and wishful thinking about unaccomplished goals. This becomes the origin of old habits and the company of friends.

Many women feel intimidated and humiliated by their colleagues or friends who are more successful. This causes them to avoid public appearances. They begin to reminiscent chances and opportunities that would have made them more successful. This is likely to bring depression.

Other women turn to alcohol in order to escape from stress or reinvent their youthful years. She becomes reckless and begins to collect jewelry, gadgets and clothing that are fit for youths. Others are extravagant with unnecessary gadgets and may even get tattooed.

A woman is likely to be depressed and pay particular attention to her body. She is vulnerable emotionally and might enter into a relationship with a younger person. She seeks to cover for absence of a parent or spouse. She encourages her children to pursue their passions like art, music, sports and academic. A lot of self acceptance is needed to come out of this phase within the shortest time.
