If you are a student planning travel to a foreign country, consider getting an international student identification card before you leave. Many restaurants, museums, and tourist stops offer discounts when you show student identification. Carrying an excessive amount of valuables can put you at risk for theft or interrupt the fun of your trip if they are lost or damaged. If you bring a lot of valuables with you, you have a greater chance of losing them or having them stolen.

Make sure to drink plenty of water when travelling, especially when travelling by air. During busy, hectic days of travel, many people neglect to stay adequately hydrated, leading to feelings of nausea compounded by the stress you feel when travelling. Always have a bottle of water on hand.

If you are interested in international travel but you can't afford it, consider volunteering to work at with an international charity. Many charities will allow you to live for free at an overseas location, in exchange for your work at one of their facilities, such as a hospital, school or nursery.

If you're going on a cruise, make sure you pack a power strip with you. Most rooms aboard cruise ships will only have one (maybe two) power outlets. If you have multiple devices that will need to be plugged, in you'll be glad you brought a power strip instead of fighting over outlets.

When going on a road trip, always bring a camera with you. You never know when you may come across something that you'll want to take a picture of to remember. It doesn't have to be something expensive and fancy, any basic camera will do. You definitely won't regret capturing your memories on film.

As was stated in the beginning of this article, stress is always a major factor in travel, for various reasons. You don't have to let it ruin you, instead conquer it by arming yourself with successful travel tips that are sure to make your journey worry-free and safe.
