Have you ever been to the California coastline for a vacation? In case you aren't aware, there is a place in that part of the country that is simply wonderful to visit. If you are not aware, or have not traveled there in your life this article is for you. I truly wanted to let you know just how great the California Redwoods are to visit.

On the northern end of Oakland there is a big area where the big Redwood trees grow tall and free. These trees aren't like any other trees you may have seen in your life either. The Redwoods located in California can grow to be as huge as 200 ft. high. There are a few of them that are so large that you can actually drive your car through a hole that has been cut out of the trees.

The logging industry is threatening to kill off these magnificent giants, but hopefully there will be a big enough effort on the part of conservationists so that we will be able to enjoy the Redwood Forest for many years to come. It would be a shame to see these sleeping giants end their time on earth.

There is one section of the forest named the Avenue of the Giants. This particular area has some of the largest redwood trees anywhere. If you enjoy camping and nature, you will have no problem finding some great camp grounds in the area.

If you stay southbound in this neck of the woods, you'll eventually get to the small small city of Fort Bragg CA. Bragg CA. This small fishing and logging community is one of the most majestic places in the country if you ask me. The town sits right on the Pacific Ocean and is home to all sorts of sport fishing such as salmon and cod fishing.

If you ever get the chance to travel through these areas of Northern California, I highly advise you spend a few extra days enjoying the sights. One day these great landmarks may not be around anymore, and it would be quite a shame to miss them.
