For some reason, the state of Connecticut does not always make the list of places that people want to vacation too or even spend time in. But these people are greatly mistaken if they believe that there is nothing to do in Connecticut.

The state as a whole is filled with fun activities for individuals or families to take part in, sights to see, places to visit, and attractions to encounter. In fact, the list of things to do in the state of Connecticut is so big it would take a couple pages to list out.

The standard tourist attractions are standard for a reason, they're beloved by all. The attractions include the Statue of Liberty, Broadway plays, and a tour of any of the huge buildings you've learned to expect from the city.

One of the main attractions of Fairfield County is its proximity to the state and city of New York. The close vicinity between New York and Fairfield County draws many to the area who will use cities like Bridgeport and Stamford to access New York City and its many attractions.

Beautiful 840 acres of land in the middle of a bustling city. Landmark location for films such as "The Avengers," "Enchanted," "Maid in Manhattan" and many more. There is almost too much to see than is possible to in one trip. There are many events and shows hosted in the park or you can come just to go for a pleasant stroll. One option visitors have started to do is to take bike ride tours of the park. These offer a much more extensive and diverse view of the park in under 4 hours. And as the tours are kept to smaller groups it is a much more intimate and pleasant touring experience.

As the people themselves are avid sports fans themselves, you'll want to purchase your tickets early to ensure you can get in. Moving away from sports, Boston is also known as the "city of neighborhoods," being populated with 21 officially designated neighborhoods.

Other attractions in Fairfield County include the popular Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport. The Adventure Park and the Discovery Museum as a whole are great places for a family to visit while on vacation.

The Adventure Park section of the Discovery Museum is made up of an aerial forest rope course which includes zip lines, ropes courses, challenging bridge crossings, and a beautiful and unique view of the scenic Connecticut forest. Closely related is the Beardsley Zoo, where patrons can view exotic animals and enjoy a fun day at the zoo.

It's a longer distance from Boston, but the trip through Connecticut and Massachusetts makes up for the time it takes to get there. You can find great boutique hotels in Stamford to stay at that provide a rich experience in the hotel itself.

Beyond museums and sports teams, the Fairfield county of Connecticut offers multiple attractions of culture with its numerous theater houses and aquatic tours of the local coast line and its rich history. With all that can be done in Fairfield County, CT, it has become a great vacation destination for families across the United States.
