The Perks of a Flight Attendant

Holidays is usually specifically difficult for flight attendants. I just flew with a flight attendant who has been on reserve status for the past 5 years, frequently light hearted and bubbly she was stressed and anxious. Not surprised, it's that time of year in the airline industry. When most people are gearing up to invest time with their loved ones airline staff are struggling to locate time with their households. I don't forget lots of years celebrating Thanksgiving on the Wednesday prior to and telling myself it's just each day! But, it by no means failed, when "that" day rolled about and scheduling got a hold of me I always felt sad, like I was missing something! But, when on my assigned trip my crew inevitably became "family" and our hotels way more sometimes than not take quite really good care of us and have a vacation spread waiting for us! In honor of Thanksgiving I thought I would take a moment and ask my crew members what they may be thankful for as flight attendants. Here is what some had to say:

The Flexibility

Tisha: "I absolutely like the flexibility and not taking the job property with me. Top JOB In the Globe!!!"

Kelly: "Even though I fly a lot and commute, I've Never missed my children's school functions or sporting events. This job permits me the time to be "team mom." I'm in a position to be there and bring within a amazing income for my loved ones. I am truly blessed."

Ginger: "Where else can you tell your business whenever you need to operate and where you need to go? As soon as upon a time I was an escrow secretary, and had to be at function daily! I am thankful this job has helped me overcome the trauma of that experience:-)"

Cost-free Travel

Mary: " I'm grateful that I'm able to give my complete family members the gift of travel. My parents have given me so substantially more than my life so to see them jet setting about the world, frequently in initially class, in their retirement is such an honor. My husband grew up within a third world country. Now he has been all more than the planet and is still in awe. As my children get older I know their education will come alive as they see the locations they find out about with their very own eyes. It actually is priceless!"

Freedom

Kemberley: " I am thankful for the reality that provided that I'm a fantastic flight attendant I don't have to see my supervisor everyday like a corporate job."

Charlie: "I have loved the way our job allows each of us to turn out to be authentic. The lack of office politics has allowed me to create devoid of regard for gay glass ceilings and items of that nature."

Friendships

Michelle: "I'm thankful this job has given me the chance to produce life lengthy pals all over the world!"

Greg: " I am thankful to become surrounded by a number of the most caring, selfless, clever and giving persons I meet everyday in the air. I really like my co-workers!"

John: "Definitely the people today I meet and function with. Every single trip it is like meeting extended lost cousins or new most effective close friends. It is always like instant family members."

Opportunity

Anna: " I'm thankful for this airline job. My youngsters and I had been immigrants towards the US and we are from Hong Kong. This job has allowed me to fly back to determine my parents to tell them how much we enjoy them when they had been alive. I've the opportunity to see the complete globe. I've money to spend my bills and aid other people. I've too a number of issues to be thankful for with this job. Hallelujah!!!"

Dean: "With limited education and finances, this job has afforded me the opportunity to travel and expand my cultural awareness while earning a respectable income. This is the easiest portion time job within the globe, with full time earnings and no anxiety."

Experiences

Lisa: "I am thankful that everyday is some thing new and that I am continually amazed by the stories of life that I hear daily."

Tracey: "I am thankful for the experiences I've witnessed. A marriage proposal, bringing a child to her adopted parents for the first time, bringing a fallen soldier home..."

Amanda: "This past week I picked up a extended Denver layover and got paid to have dinner with my nephew, sister and dad. It does not get substantially much better than that!"
