You might be in the market for a brand new set of Hankook tires, but don't think for a second that you can just go to the tire dealer and choose the first thing you see. When you head in to choose your new set of wheels, you will have to look into all sorts of different details, such as what kind of treads you need on each tire and the actual quality and longevity you are expecting. If you are not adequately informed of all of these various matters and how they will affect you, it is very likely that you will end up choosing the wrong kind of wheels for your intended purpose.

One of the clearest factors of tire shopping is to make sure that you get ones that are appropriately sized for the vehicle you are going to have them mounted on. A tire is measured in a couple of different ways, the first of which is the diameter of the middle opening of the tire, where the rim will be once the tire is put into place. The two remaining measurements to include are one that is measured in millimeters and another that is really an aspect ratio, but they are basically the measurements of tread width and sidewall height. You will have to match all of these measurements to what is currently on your vehicle to ensure a proper fit, but all you have to do is write down the measurements indicated on your current set of wheels.

The next thing you will have to consider is the tread type you need for the driving conditions you are going to use your vehicle in. There are some wheels out there that are intended for everyday driving in normal weather, and there are others that are intended for off road situations and other types of motorsports. You could just be settling for wheels that will get you around town from day to day, and you will still be able to choose from different kinds of treads that provide superior handling in wet weather or other conditions.

With those decisions out of the way, you will need to think of how long you hope to have your new wheels and how much money you are willing to spend. Some tires are rated to take your for over a hundred thousand miles and will cost you accordingly, and there are ones you can get that are fairly cheap but will not get you even half as far as the other set.

No matter what you are looking for in your Hankook tires, it is critical that you know exactly how to find it. Anytime you get stumped and can't find what you are looking for, you can simply ask an employee to point you in the right direction.
