Concert Halls, Performance Venues and Great Places for Music in Orlando

The exciting city of Orlando has more than just the famous mouse to boast about. The city of Orlando is a first class stage for artists of theatre, symphonies and all the performing arts. It's not surprising Disney made a home here. Take in a show at one of many spectacular Orlando theaters.

Mad Cow Theatre Playhouse

One of the few professional theaters in Orlando, Mad Cow offers a full season of plays and musicals. Theirs is a perpetual focus on bringing high quality theatre to Central Florida audiences. This company tinkers in modern and original theatre pieces along with the classics. Thanks to the local support of patrons and government arts grants, this theatre company is going to move into their new home in in downtown Orlando. Take in a Tony award winning musical or enjoy one of the dramatic pieces offered in their full season.

Bob Carr Performing Arts Center

You don't have to go to the Big Apple to see Broadway's best musicals. At the awesome 2500+ seat location, the Center offers a full line-up of Broadway performances that tour across the nation. Ballets and operas from all over the world can also be seen at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center as they stop by the city of Orlando's theaters on their world tours. The Bob Carr Performing Arts Center is also the home of the brilliant Orlando Philharmonic.

The Plaza Theatre

This historical two-screen theatre in the city was recently renovated into one of the most state of the art, highest caliber concert halls in Orlando. The Plaza Theatre is Orlando's main live performance venue. Head lining musicians, famous performers and even the Orlando Symphony play the theatre to sell-out crowds. Though The Piazza Theatre is presently open, it is undergoing renovations. The Plaza Theatre is looking forward to an impending season in their new home with an even larger stage and house.

Amway Center

Considered the jewel of concert halls in Orlando, the Amway Center hosts the most important names in music and sports occasions. In one season, patrons can choose from music concerts, international speakers, an Orlando Magic game, or possibly a night at a Barnum and Bailey Circus. The Amway Center also hosts top ice-skating shows and hockey events on their permanent ice floor. There is never a shortage of family style entertainment at this cool location.

Orlando Repertory Theatre

For an event of modern or classical theatre from the top actors in Orlando, check out the Orlando Rep. In partnership with the University of Central Florida, the Orlando Repertory showcases both MFA student and professional Equity stage performers in all types of genres. Along with a full season of evening performances, there are morning performances for field tripping children who enjoy theatre. The Orlando Repertory Theatre is actually the top in family entertainment.
