These rewards are offered as an incentive to stay loyal to your brand. Being on all of the club lists will eventually pay off when you are looking for cheap travel accomodations. Some arilines offer point values that are equal to the number of miles flown. Some will also offer a trip by trip basis option. If you don't want to sign up with everyone it's ok, you will still get points for your trips.

Fly Stand By. This is not ideal if you have a definite start and end date for your vacation. If you have some wiggle room, however, flying standby could be one of the best ways for you to get your hands on cheap international flight seats.

To do this you need to show up at the airport as early as possible (usually by six in the morning). You then list your name for every flight that is going to where you want to go. If that flight has an unfilled seat, the seat is given to the first name on the "stand by" list. You could end up having to wait a while, but it is a great way to save money. Finding cheap international flights does not have to be difficult. In fact, if you are smart, locating affordable plane tickets can be pretty easy. There are lots of ways to save money when you travel. Everything from not checking your luggage to shopping around to flying standby can save you money when you travel. The key to getting the best deal that you can possibly get is to be patient and willing to do the work. If you don't want to work to find a good deal then you will almost absolutely end up paying too much. It is hard to enjoy a vacation knowing that you've wrecked your bank account to pay for it.
