Airport security has heightened ever since the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Billions of dollars are being spent to make sure travelers are safe. Some feel that these security checks can be repetitive and can take up a lot of time when check in. In fact the lines are getting so bad that TSA has stopped posting wait times on their website. Several companies are at work trying to find a way for passengers to clear airport security.

As a result a new way to get to the front of the line has been introduced. A onetime pre-screen allows travelers to simply clear airport security. the company is called Clear and through them passengers can get ahead of everybody else when they check in at the airport.

Clear claims to cut down 45 minutes off passengers check in time, making it a breeze to get on your flight. The idea came about by a writer Steven Brill, who thought of the idea while working on a book about the aftermath of 9/11. As a member a person must agree to be pre-screened then they are issued an ID card with their fingerprints and eye retina scans. Once they have the card people can simply check in at special Clear checkpoints, the process is so fast that the average check time is reported to be around five minutes.

Clear is not only fast, it is safe too. In June 2012 Clear receive the prominent Safety Act Certification by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. With this certification Clear has become the only expedited traveler solution to be on the Department of Homeland Security approved product list. Clear has been considered a safe and the most efficient way to travel these days, allowing passengers to simply clear airport security.

Over 600,000 passengers nationally have checked in with clear thus far. Check in consists of a fingerprint or an eye retina scan at a Clear Checkpoint. After which a passenger can cut right to the front of the line to get their carry on luggage scanned before they walk on their flight.
