The sea and beaches in Mauritius are one of the key attractions, whether you are on a family vacation, a sporty holiday with friends or on honeymoon. The water is crystal clear and perfectly clean. The color of the sea is a really particular light turquoise, which harmonizes wonderfully with the white sand and lush green foliage. Mauritius is full of little bays where you can enjoy privacy and tranquility. If you like snorkeling, head off to Pointe aux Piments, which is famous for it's underwater views.

You may think about making an excursion to Il aux Cerfs Island, generally known as Deer Island. It is accessible thru a short ship trip from the mainland and offers a fascinating and tranquil experience amid secluded bays and gigantic palms.

All Mauritians speak French and English and so you'll have no difficulty communicating while there. Taxi drivers are particularly talkative and can provide you with plenty of "insider info" about the island. Mauritius really is probably one of the most beautiful island nations in Southeast Pacific Rim, enriched by impressive tropical nature but also by a fascinating heritage and gorgeous arts.

Port Louis is the capital city of Mauritius and a wonderful visitor attraction. When visiting you will enjoy stopping at the Royal Botanical Garden, the Government House, the Blue Penny Museum and the Central Market.

Near the Capital, it's well worth visiting Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, often referred to as the Sri Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Gardens. They're emerald green and home to giant water lilies and exotic palm trees. Annually they are visited by many tourists and the local govt keeps them in perfect order. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Talipot palm flower. This palm flowers once each sixty years and then dies!

Mauritius is an island and the sole airport is in the town of Plaisance, near the coast. If you don't like lots of automobile travel there are lot's of beautiful spots not so far away, however the island itself is small so even if you travel by auto to the opposite end you almost certainly still won't be car-sick! There aren't any trains but taxies are widely available and rather cheap and or you can go for a vehicle hire. Buses are less expensive but aren't very comfortable to use when you're carrying lot's off bags as to get on you have several high steps to climb. Also they do not take you to all of the possible destinations, especially if you've selected an isolated hotel.

Holidays to Mauritius are great if you are on honeymoon but whether or not you just want to relax and unwind. The length of the stay can be from one or two days to two or three weeks. When making plans for your trip to Mauritius do not forget to make arrangements for babysitting, plant watering and pet care. Some people use house-sitters or perhaps house swapping, to be sure that their domestic situation will be inclined to while they are away and they can totally enjoy their vacation.

You can spend a day in Black Brook Gorges State Park, well known for the various animal species you can see and particularly the many types of colorful birds which make the Park look like a modern day Garden of Eden. Here you will find the Pink Pigeon, the Mauritius Kestrel, the Olive and the Gray White eye and the Mauritius Fody, just to name a few . The Govt. has invested substantially in the animal life parks and this has permitted for an increase in fauna.

The excellent weather all year round and the contrast of the very green lush foliage to the soft white sands and azure sea make it a vacation spot well worth visiting and holiday makers increase annually.
