One can choose to spend his break in several ways. One can do it in several places as well. One has vast choices available to him. Even the company he chooses to bring can be varied. One can spend some alone time, family time or time with friends. One has to choose well on the who, where and how for his break to make the most of his time to ascertain that it is fun, stress free and relaxing. An option one has is Morehead City fishing.

If heading out for a catch, one needs to take note of how his timing is. The efforts one spends would be for naught when you go during a time when there are no aquatic animals coming to feed. During spring, catch is best in late afternoon and early in the evening, summers are from early mornings and late afternoons. At fall, best time is in the afternoon, in fall fishes are trying to put on weight in preparation for winter. These times temperature is ideal for them to come up and feed. Catch will be low during extreme temperatures.

There are various techniques that you can use. It would depend on the aquatic animal and where you plan to get them. Common techniques are netting, hand gathering and angling. The knowledge you have on the techniques, the aquatic animal's behavior and types are useful to making a good decision.

The preparation of the bait and equipment to be used would be just as fun. Several choices are still available. Natural bait include leeches, meal worms, grubs and more. If the bait is not natural, then that is a lure. Lures come in various sizes, colors and shapes.

Once you get a fish on your hook you now have to retrieve it. That could be tricky because it will struggle to free itself. You will need to retrieve the line as quick as you can while you lower the rod until it is pointing to the fish. Pause from retrieving the line and carefully raise the rod. Once it is up at about an 11:00 position, repeat the process until your catch is near enough and is ready to be landed.

Use caution in landing your catch. Many anglers will use the index finger and the thumb to grip catch at its lower jaw. This holds its jaws wide open and paralyzes it temporarily.

One could also grab them by their mouths and bellies to remove hook. Nets are best to use when landing bigger catch. Place the net into the water then lead the catch to it head first. Aquatic animals with sharp teeth are to be handled by their bodies. Others, like the Atlantic salmon possess strong tails so you would have to grasp them at the front of their tail fin.

No matter the reason for the trip, keep in mind that you are responsible for keeping the environment and yourself safe. Use caution including with how you handle aquatic animals. So is true when planning on catch and release.

It would be a fun adventure to go on Morehead City fishing. You can have some great family bonding experience. You can also enjoy the solitude if that is what you prefer.
