The first lesson you go for will be one on the beach. Here you will be taught how to paddle out into the water. This is where you will be taught the theory of surfing as well. Once your instructors believe that you have got the knack of it they will separate you into groups of 2-3 people per instructor and you will then head out for the waters.

Intermediate surfers are taken out into the waters where they can begin to experience the different beaches. During these lesson there are a number of things taught, some of which are the essential basics. You will also be taught the mechanics of waves and a whole lot more.

Keep in mind that surf school is a holiday retreat and you should enjoy doing what you do. There is no pressure to do anything you feel uncomfortable with but if you want to receive maximum enjoyment you should spend as much time in the water as possible, riding those waves. Surfers ride a wave for a maximum of about six seconds and not every wave is the best one you have ridden. One will experience great waves every now and then.
