How to Get to The Front of The Lines at Disney World

In this post I'll explain everything that a guest needs to know about how the Fastpass system operates, along with some details about how the newly updated system works.

How the system works works.

Much different from Universal, Disney do not charge for their front of the line privileges. A valid park ticket is the only thing the guest needs to obtain one, which is included upon entry.

Guests should locate the FASTPASS machine of their choice (they are often close by the entrance to the ride) and put their park ticket into the machine. They will then get a freshly printed ticket that they can use later in the day.

The pass is going to be valid for a set time during the guests stay in the park. The guest should return at some point in the one hour range printed on the ticket to get around the regular line and go right to the front!

Guests should be aware that Disney have in recent times changed their rules when returning with a ticket. In the good old days, the guest was allowed to go back anytime after the time frame had began. Though just lately Disney Cast Members (employees) have been given exact instructions to enforce the displayed return time period.

The Fastpass Plus Option

Fastpass plus is a recently revised form of the original system, and offers a few excellent advantages.

To start with, events may be arranged before a holiday. This can potentially enable individuals to choose their ideal offerings well in advance without having to worry about missing a certain ride. There can also be way less of a need to head to the park incredibly early to obtain a pass for a number of the popular attractions.

Next, FASTPASS+ is a completely flexible system. The guests could switch out the return time or experience (if available) before they redeem their experience. In the event they miss the return window, with the older system they might have simply lost out. However with the newer system it is easy to re-book for a later offered time.

With the old system, should the guests lose their ticket, they would have lost out on that experience as well as the time they need to wait to obtain a brand new pass. But with FASTPASS+, reservations may be checked in the system and changed with their reservations still in place.
