Great Attractions Detroit Has to Offer

If you are planning a visit to Motor City, get prepared by checking out some of the awesome activities in Detroit. With many attractions in Detroit such as zoos, museums, casinos, parks and more, Detroit offers both a great day out and the opportunity for many memorable experiences.

Motown Historic Museum

Set up in 1985 by Esther Gordy Edwards, the Motown Museum is one of the Motor City's most popular holidaymaker destinations. Take a led tour to be and see where Motown had its beginnings. Experience history through art, clothing, photos, and souvenirs of the Motown Empire. Feel the history as you stand in the same recording studio where lots of the great Motown originals launched their careers.

Greektown Casino

The Greektown Hotel and Casino is located in the center of Greektown, a cultural neighborhood in the city of Detroit. Except for gambling and shows at the casino, Greektown has plenty of other things to offer visitors. You will find shopping and dining in the traditional cultural neighborhood as well as many blocks of buyable treasures. Stay at the Greektown Hotel and Casino and experience the nightlife of the city's traditional Greek community.

Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum

The Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum can be found on the grounds of the University of Michigan. It's a smashing place to spend a down day relaxing, exploring and smelling the roses. There are several gardens in bloom at different times of the year including the new bonsai and penjing garden. Except for the beautiful gardens, there is an inside conservatory and miles of hiking and discovery trails. Feel free to bring snacks and picnics and relax on one of the many outside patios or in the picnic grove.

Detroit Zoological Park

The Detroit Zoological Park, often referred to as the Detroit Zoo is home to over 6,800 animals. There are numerous attractions in the Detroit Zoo to enjoy including dining, shopping and exploring exhibitslike theWinter Safari and the Arctic Ring of Life. Apart from the various permanent attractions at the zoo, there are seasonal and limited amount of time attractions. Plan a visit accordingly to catch the best that the zoo has to offer.

The Henry Ford

The Henry Ford is a museum that will provide a whole day of education, entertainment and fun. There is a factory tour, a complete village, a museum and an IMAX theater. The Henry Ford is the number one cultural attraction in the whole state of Michigan. Make a journey through time at the Henry Ford and experience the art and history of driving and cars in the USA.

Comerica Park

Comerica Park is the home stadium of the Detroit Tigers. It is so way more than a baseball stadium. There's a 50 foot indoor Ferris wheel, a carousel, shopping, many dining selections within the stadium and giant sculptures of tigers across the park. Ball games incorporate firework displays into the event with their liquid fireworks display. When in Detroit, enjoy a little piece of American custom and take in a ball game at Comerica Park.
